sgi, vms, and premier sports chiropractic donate supplies
October 27, 2010 | Indianapolis, INCollege Mentors for Kids would like to express our sincere gratitude to SGI, VMS BioMarketing, and Premier Sports Chiropractic for their generous donation of school supplies, backpacks, toys, and other necessary materials for each of College Mentors’ 23 chapters. These supply drives save chapters money and let them focus on the intense fall start-up period.
SGI has a long history of commitment to College Mentors. SGI President Jack Burns has served on the College Mentors for Kids Board of Directors for seven years (he is the former chairman and current executive committee member) and SGI has made numerous in kind donations and been a sponsor of College Mentors for Kids’ annual event, Inspire. This year, the SGI staff assembled boxes of supplies, toys, and play money/checks for our financial literacy initiative. The boxes were delivered to staff leaders at the annual Fall retreat.
Employees at VMS BioMarketing donated over 1,000 items to benefit at youth in Indiana, Illinois, and Ohio. Items included: binders, backpacks, notebooks, folders, crayons, glue, colored pencils, calculators, pencils, scissors, and much more.
Premier Sports Chiropractic in Carmel utilized a creative approach with their backpack drive, dedicating an entire day to helping College Mentors for Kids. In August, the company instructed patients to either bring a backpack stuffed with supplies or make a $30 contribution in exchange for an adjustment. One hundred percent of the proceeds went toward College Mentors for Kids’ Fall Start-Up. The backpacks will be distributed to College Mentors for Kids’ little buddies at Indianapolis Public Schools.
