College Mentors CEO Erin Slater Receives National Recognition on
The Martha Stewart Show
Erin Slater, College Mentors for Kids CEO, has been selected as Martha Stewart’s 2009 Dreamers into Doers Philanthropic winner!
The Dreamers into Doers contest is an annual contest held by The Martha Stewart Show to recognize those who have turned their passion into their profession. Brian Laskey, Associate Program Director, nominated Erin by submitting a 250 word essay exemplifying her strong character and true excitement for her career.
“Erin is an inspiration to everyone she meets. It is because of her strong leadership that College Mentors for Kids has grown from serving 685 children in 2006-2007 to serving 1200 in 2009-2010. Erin Slater is not just a dreamer, but a doer as well,” said Laskey.
Martha Stewart Show sent a taping crew and producers to the Indianapolis headquarters, IPS #114, a local College Mentors for Kids partner elementary school, and the University of Indianapolis to document the genuine impact this program and Erin has had on so many people.
Along with $10,000, Erin will appear on the October 9th episode of The Martha Stewart Show and be featured in the December issue of Martha Stewart Living magazine.
College Mentors for Kids would like to thank all of our supporters! Congratulations Erin on this prestigious award!
